Helen DeHart

Helen (Summers) DeHart, 98, was born March 8, 1885, in Scotland County, Missouri, to George and Rebecca (hay) Summers and departed this life July 10, 1983, at the Davis County Hospital in Bloomfield, Iowa, at 5:30 a.m. following a brief illness.

Helen was married to John DeHart in the parsonage of the Christian Church in Memphis, January 30, 1907, of which they were both members.

They lived their entire married life on a farm five miles northeast of Memphis in the Conyers neighborhood.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John, on April 4th, 1948, and her parents.

She leaved to mourn her death her two daughters, Anna Mae Mustoe, of Memphis, Missouri, and Verlee Brinkman and husband Adolph, of Troy, Ohio; a granddaughter, Mary Anna Hermo, and her husband, Frank; three great-grandchildren, Scott, Elizabeth and Andy Hermo of Nutley, New Jersey, who she loved very much.

Helen made her home with both her daughters, in Memphis, Missouri and Troy, Ohio, after the death of her husband.

She was a kind and loving mother and will be sadly missed by her family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at the Payne-Gerth Funeral Chapel, Memphis, Missouri, Wednesday, July 13, 1983, at 10:30 a.m. with burial in the Memphis Cemetery. Rev. Kenneth Campbell officiating. Ann Luther will be the organist with Kenneth Campbell as the soloist. Body bearers were Don Smith, Frank Reed, Lonel Henderson, Harold Poling, George Camp and Wilbert Lohmann.
