Bloomfield, Feb. 26 - The remains of Mrs. L.P.Bates, after reposing for nearly twenty-four years in the Mt. Moriah cemetery eight miles southwest of here, were disinterred Tuesday and brought to this place for re-interment in the I.O.O.F. cemetery, beside her husband who died about a year ago. It was the wish of the members of the family that the father and mother should rest side by side in the family lot in the Odd Fellows'cemetery.

Mr. Bates was one of the wealthiest men in the county at the date of his demise, and his estate is now in process of settlement in the court. Two children are living and reside in this county, viz: Leslie H., and Mrs. Leah E. Harris, wife of Milton R. Harris.
