Amy Irene Hare was born April 26, 1955, the daughter of Harold and Maxine (Struble) Jobst in Dexter, Iowa. She passed away on Sunday, April 4, 2021 at Piedmont Athens Regional Hospital in Athens, Georgia, at the age of 65.

Amy was raised on a farm in Dexter and graduated from Dexfield High School in 1973. After graduation, Amy worked for Continental Insurance Co and later as a Manager for Casey’s General Stores before retiring from Amoco Oil Company.

On February 2, 1974, Amy married Christopher Hopkins. The couple shared two children; Maggie Anderson and Betsy Hopkins. Amy moved to Cumming, Georgia in June of 1993 and on December 3, 1994 she was united in marriage to Paul Hare in Cumming, Georgia. Amy found so much joy in her family. She also enjoyed knitting and gifting her creations to those she loved.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Kenneth Jobst; sister, Donna Wollenberg; sister, Wendy Sheeder; and sister-in-law Phyllis Jobst.

She is survived by her husband, Paul Hare of Hartwell, Georgia; her daughters, Maggie Anderson of Ankeny, Iowa and Betsy Hopkins of Des Moines, Iowa; 5 grandchildren, Grace Anderson, Katelyn Anderson, Luke Anderson, Benjamin Reber, and Haddie Reber; sisters, Wilma Taylor of Mesa, Arizona, Bonnie Jerke (Keith) of Sioux Falls, SD, Peggy Pittenger (Frank) of South Bound Brook, NJ; brothers Dwayne Jobst (Ann) of Tucson, Arizona, Roger Jobst (Mary Ann) of Royal, Iowa; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The family of Amy Hare wishes to express their gratitude for all acts of kindness shown to them in their time of sorrow.

Memorial services to celebrate her life will be held May 15 at 11:00 AM at Lutheran Church Hope Waukee, 305 NE Dartmoor Dr., Waukee,IA. There will be a visitation starting at 10:00 AM for friends and family.

Mrs. Hare will be laid to rest in Iowa beside her parents. Berry Funeral Home & Crematory of Elberton is assisting the family of Mrs. Amy Irene Jobst Hare.
