Resided in Grimes, IAJohn Kuder, 82, died Wednesday, May 4, 2011, at Granger Nursing and Rehab Center. Graveside services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday at Sunny Hill Cemetery in Grimes.
John was born July 7, 1928, in Kellerton, Iowa to Robert Ollie and Grace Lillian (Corll) Kuder. He lived and farmed in Minburn, Ankeny, Waukee, Indianola and Van Meter, retiring to Grimes in 1978. John worked almost 35 years for Firestone Tire and Rumber Co. He enjoyed sprint car racing and wintering in Texas.
John was preceded in death by his parents, his sister and brother-in-law, Pauline D. and Ralph D. Culver and his nephew, Terrance David Culver. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Sheryl, his children, Janie Tordsen of Oskaloosa and Bob (Michelle) Kuder of What Cheer, three grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Iles Funeral Homes-Brandt Chapel in Dallas Center. Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
