Resided in Granger, IA

Louise Blair, 88, passed away Wednesday, May 4, 2011, at Mercy West Lakes in West Des Moines. Funeral services will be held 10 am Saturday, May 7, at Emmanuel United Methodist Church in Granger, with burial to follow at Lincoln Cemetery.

Louise was born in Carney, Iowa to Lawrence and Eva (Pinegar) Oyres. Louise and her husband, Roy, lived in the Granger Homestead for 50 years before moving to Grimes. They owned and operated the drug store in Granger in the 1950's.

Louise worked as a chemist analyst at Pioneer Hybrid for 20 years, retiring in 1978. She loved to go camping, bowling, and working in her flower garden. Louise especially loved going to Prairie Meadows where she was very lucky on the slot machines.

Louise was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Roy, son Richard, and her brothers, Wesley and Lawrence Oyres.

Louise is survived by her son Ron (Linda) Blair of Granger, her grandchildren, Joe Blair of Des Moines, Richie Blair of Northwood, IA, Ryan Blair and Jolene (Brian) Moran, both of Granger; and her great grandchildren, Jackson Blair of Des Moines and Cole and Carly Moran, both of Granger.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Emmanuel United Methodist Church in Granger. Memorial contributions may be made to the family or Granger Nursing and Rehab Center.
