At Adel, on Monday night, S. H. Davidson proprietor of the City Mills, heard his pigs squealing, and went to see what was the matter, - his wife going with him, carrying a lantern. As he turned to leave the pen, a bullet passed his breast, entered his forearm, struck the bone, and glanced up near the elbow, where it lodged. Whether it was an accidental shot, or aimed with a purpose of talking his life, he cannot imagine.
