Samuel Allen Porter

From 1856 Census, it appears that Samuel Allen Porter, his wife, Eliza and son, Andrew all born in Ohio are in Clinton County, Iowa along with their infant son, Franklin. Also, later in 1856 Samuel is with Absalom Dennis, Laura Eggleston Powell Dennis and her daughters. Did his first wife, Eliza die that year as well as the son, Franklin? I can't find anything about them in later census. The son, Andrew Porter was 4 years old at the time and when he is 8 years old I believe he is with relatives back in Ohio. Can anyone shed light on this family mystery for me? Samuel Allen Porter is my great, great gramdfather. Thanks to anyone who may have information to share.
