Looking for more family members related to the following people.
Nis Nissen Grumstrup moved to Clinton, IA in about 1871 from Denmark. He farmed and raised his family in the Clinton area. His sons Thomas and Walter (Walidmer) were wood workers and cabinet makers and by 1929 were President and Vice President of the Andersen Furniture Company in Clinton (acording to the 1929 Clinton Directory). Thomas David Grumstrup married Hermina "Minnie" Hansen about 1890 and had three children Effie b 21 Nov 1891, Louis Nis Grumstrup b. 14 Jun 1895, and Bernard Ferdinand Grumstrup b. about 1897.Effie Grumstrup was along time music teacher in Clinton and never married she lived in her parent house after they died at 1214 N 2nd in Clinton until her death 21 Jun 1983.
Louis Nis Grumstrup born 14 Jun 1895 and died in Iowa City 26 Sep 1943.
Bernard Ferdinand Grumstrup was born in about 1897 and served in WWI. He contracted meningitis during the war and was eventually diabled by it. He married Johanna "Josephine" Bylsema of East Clinton, IL in about 1923. He was sent to a veterans hospital in Denver, Colorado for his health. They had two children in Denver: Thomas who died in early childhood of meningitis and Shirley Jane Grumstrup who married Williard Francis Boivin and had four children in Grand Junction, Colorado.
