On Sunday, Abraham Vandevere, one of the old settlers of Clinton, finished his course on this earth, and at the ripe old age of 83 years, went across the river to find the fountain of youth. The old gentleman has been feeble for some time and his accustomed step has been missed on the walks. He was a good man, set in his ways, of strong convictions, but probably was as useful as the average of men who live as many years as he has. The funeral services took place from the family residence, Tuesday forenoon, and the remains were laid away in Springdale cemetery.
