Martin C. Nielsen,83, long-time DeWitt resident died at 3 p.m. Thursday, July 1, in Mercy hospital, Anamosa. He had resided since last October with his brother, A. P. Nielsen, Anamosa.

Services were held at 1:30 P.M. Saturday, July 3, in the McGinnis funeral home, DeWitt. Rev. C. D. Boggie officiated. Burial was in Elmwood cemetery.

Mr. Nielsen was born July 1, 1871, in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany, the son of the late Neils and Marie Nielsen. He came to this country in 1884, coming to Davenport and then moving to Clinton county where he resided until last October. He never married.

Surviving, besides his brother, are six nephews and four nieces.
