Sister Vincentia Kaeferstein, BVM, 102, of Marian Hall, Dubuque, IA, passed away on January 13, 2017, at Mount Carmel.

Visitation will be from 9 A/M to 11 A/M, on Wednesday, January 18, 2017, in the Marian Hall Chapel, followed by a prayer service at 11 A/M. Funeral liturgy will be at 1:30 P/M in the Marian Hall Chapel. Burial will be in the Mount Carmel cemetery.

In Dubuque, Sister Vincentia taught and was principal at St. Anthony ES, and taught biology at Clarke University, where she later volunteered in the mentor program. She taught secondary school and was principal in Council Bluffs and Des Moines, IA. She taught elementary school in Maywood and Chicago, IL, and Casper, WY.

She was born in Welton, IA, on February 13, 1914, to William Gustave and Bernadine Brass Kaeferstein. She entered the BVM congregation September 8, 1931, from St. Ireneaus, Clinton, IA. She professed first vows on March 19, 1934, and final vows on August 15, 1939.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Ursula Hahn, Margaret Statts and Jeanne Bloom; brothers, William, Hugh and Carl. She is survived by nieces, nephews and the Sisters of Charity, BVM, with whom she shared life for eight-five (85) years.
