Grand Mound, Ia. May 26--The death of Mrs. Jane Donovan occurred last night at her home, after a lingering illness at the age of 67 years. The funeral will be held Sunday morning at 8:30 o'clock at Sts. Philip and James' church with interment in Calvary cemetery.

The funeral of the late Mrs. Jane Donovan, who died at her home here Thursday night, was held Sunday morning at Sts. Philip and James Catholic church at 8:30 o'clock, where solemn requiem high mass was celebrated by Rev. J. J. Murray of Clinton, assisted by Rev. Nugent of DeWitt and Rev. D. J. Riordan, pastor. After the funeral services interment was made at Calvary cemetery, under the direction of J. W. Kelly, undertaker.

The deceased was born in Ireland 67 years ago and came to America with her father at the age of 4. They located at Philadelphia and two years later came to Davenport. After a short residence there they moved one mile northeast of Grand Mound. In 1851 she was married to her deceased husband, John Donovan, a civil war veteran. Ten years ago she bought a comfortable home in town, where she continued to reside until the final summons. She was the mother of ten children, Mrs. Ed Corbett, Elizabeth and Alice, who are deceased; Frank and William of Berlin township, Harry at home and James, whose residence in unknown, Annie of Chicago, Mrs. Ed Kurtz and Mrs. John Tallett of North Chicago. Besides her surviving children she leaves numerous friends and neighbors, who extend sympathy to those bereft of a gentle, loving mother. The pall bearers were John Moore, T. V. Duffy, M. F. McGinty, Thomas Lynch, Jerry Wolfe and James Martin.
