William Van Sant

William Van Sant passed away at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Bart Sill, 624 Eleventh Avenue, Wednesday evening after an illness of two weeks duration with a hernia.

Mr. Van Sant had been a resident of Clinton since 1871. He was born at Laurel,Md December 2, 1836 the family later going to Ellicot City, Md. when he was about eighteen years of age he came with his parents to Mount Vernon, Iowa, where he will be taken for interment.

Beside his wife and son W. C. Van Sant, two other sons preceded him in death, Maurice F. and Clarence E. He leaves to mourn, three daughters. Mrs. D L. Stamm, Mrs. George E. Brown. Mrs. Bart Sill. Also three sons, Frank D, Edgar R. and Charles H. all of Clinton.

The funeral will be held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Sill, 624 Eleventh Avenue, Friday morning at 10:30 o'clock.
