The Clinton Herald Tuesday June 15, 1926 p 6 W.H. McCune, aged 88 years, passed away at his home, 500 DeWitt street, at 12:25 o'clock today, following an illness of two year' duration. No funeral plans have been made. No funeral plans have been made.
Mr. McCune was born in New York City, March 1, 1840, and for the past 56 years had made his home here. He was a Civil war veteran, a member of the Fifteenth Iowa brigade.
Left to mourn his death are his wife, one daughter, Mrs. Mae McCune Preston, Clinton; five sons, W.S., James, Oliver, M.H. of Clinton and Fred of Kansas City, Mo., also seven grandchildren sand five great-grandchildren.
