Mrs. Margaret Balbac Damour, wife of F. W. Damour, passed away Sunday morning at the family home, 507 Franklin street. Though Mrs. Damour had been in feeble health for some time her sudden death came without warning and she passed away peacefully at 6 o'clock.
Margaret Balbac was born July 13, 1845, in Mainz, Germany. At the age of three years with her parents she came to America and settled on a farm near Elizabeth Ill; February 28, 1863, she was united in marriage to with Frederick William Damour at Galena, IL. Four years later they came to this city to take up their residence and have since resided here.
The deceased's acquaintance in this vicinity was very large, and she was esteemed by all who knew her. She was a member of Grace church and also Lyons chapter 130, O. E. S.
Left to mourn her death are her husband, F. W. Damour, three daughters, Mrs. George H. Cook of this city, Mrs. Elizabeth Morgan of Freeport, Ill., and Mrs. Russell M. Howard of Winona, Minn,; one son, F. W. Damour jr. of Cedar Rapids; three grandchildren, Mrs. W. T. R. Smith of this city, Margaret Howard of Winona and William Henry Damour of Cedar Rapids; also one great-grandson, William George Smith of this city.
The funeral will be held Tuesday afternoon with services at Grace church at 3 o'clock. Rev. W. Ernest Stockley will officiate. Burial will be in Oakland cemetery.
