.M. Kramer 07/11/2001 CLINTON, Iowa -- J.M. "Jay" Kramer, of 111 Moorings Park Drive, Naples, Fla., formerly of Clinton, Iowa, died Sunday at Orchid Terrace, Naples. Services will be 2:30 p.m. Friday at First Presbyterian Church, Clinton. The Rev. Robert Burdett will officiate. A Rose Croix service will be conducted by Robert Wright in conjunction with the funeral service at the church. Burial will be in Springdale Cemetery, Clinton. Serving as pallbearers will be Masonic brothers Harold Johnson, Chris Eichmeier, Richard Chisholm, Darrell Smith, Jim Lind and Robert Wright. Clinton Chapel of Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes and Crematory is in charge of arrangements. He was born Jan. 21, 1911, in Orland Park, Ill., a son of Jacob H. and Mary (Berenz) Kramer. He married Eleanor Smith on Feb. 14, 1939, in Clinton. He served in the Marine Corps during World War II. He had been a resident of Naples since 1987. He owned and operated ServiSoft Soft Water Service, Clinton, for many years. He was active in many civic groups in Clinton. He was a board member of 1st National Bank (the original City National Bank). He served on the school board for many years. He was a 50-year member of Western Star Lodge 100 A.F & A.M., 50-year member of Clinton Scottish Rite Bodies and a member of KAABA Shrine and High 12 Club. In Clinton, he was an active member of First Presbyterian Church, singing in the choir and sponsoring the young peoples Sunday evening group. He was an elder in the Clinton church. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Naples. The family requests memorials be made to First Presbyterian Church or First Congregational Church. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Eleanor Smith Kramer, Naples; their daughter, Mary Moseley, and her husband, Kenneth, Longwood, Fla.; sons, Larry, and his wife, Carolyn (Traver), Clinton, and Bill, and his wife, Beth (DeFarkas), Spencer; grandchildren, Chris, Kimberly, Megan and Jay Paul Kramer, all of Spencer, and Laura and Michael Moseley, Longwood; and a great-grandchild, Elle Kramer. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Mr. and Mrs. Jacob H. Kramer, his wife, Pearle Cooper and his brothers, Walter and Clarence Kramer, all of Orland Park.
