Mrs. Caroline Whilemenia Keppien Carstensen, 89 years died early this morning in the house of her daughter Mrs. Martin Boothby, Charlotte, with whom she has made her house with since the death of her husband Jens Carstensen in 1912.
Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon in the Methodist Church. Burial will be in the Center Grove Cemetery.
Mrs. Carstensen was born Oct. 20, 1845 in Oldenburg, Holstein Germany and came to America with her family while a small child. She married Jens Carstensen in 1864.
Surviving her are a daughter, Mrs. Martin Boothby; 3 grand-daughters, Mrs. Lloyd Heitt, Mrs. Walter Christiansen and Mrs. Grace Donahue.
Also 6 great-grandchildren, Mrs. Herbert Carlson, Dale and Delores Heitt, Wayne and Maxine Christiansen and LaVerne Donahue.

Spelling of KEPPIEN could be KLEPPIEN also.
