The Clinton Age, Clinton, Iowa, February 25, 1887

The going out of McCloy’s dam has so reduced the water in Mill’s Creek above said dam, that the Northwestern Railroad Company find it difficult to fill their large tanks with water which they had heretofore drawn from the pond. Now we understand the company must sink a large and expensive well unless they can get a supply from the city. To obtain water from the city would require the laying of several thousand feet of mains, but we believe it would pay to do it, as the R. R. Co. would be a good customer and other patrons could be obtained along the line. – Maquoketa Sentinel
