In Response To: Rob Roy Ferry, 1929 & Indian Isle (Mary Durr)

I also have a photo of the Rob Roy II. It was a ferry boat that took passengers from McGregor and Indian Isle. From what my older relatives have told me, Indian Isle used to be quite the place to go! It was a night club of sorts. I'm sure they served alchol there and there were dances almost every night of the week! In the photo I have my my aunt's 1930 high school photo album, there looks like there were two ferrys in the picture. I recommend you write to the Marquette Depot Museum, Marquette, IA 52158 or (563)873-1200 for more information.
