Clayton County Register, Thur., 01 Aug. 1929. Strawberry Point column.

Mrs. Anna Kathryn Weeks, eldest daughter of the late Adam and Lydia Ludy, was born near Freeport, Ill., Sept. 8, 1856, and died at her home east of Strawberry Point, Iowa, Thursday, July 25, at the age of 72 years, 10 months and 17 days. When about fifteen years of age she moved with her parents to a farm 5 1/2 miles southeast of Strawberry Point, where she grew to womanhood. In 1876 she was united in marriage to Bradford T. Weeks, a Civil War veteran. To this union were born two children, one dying in infancy and Lewis W., of Strawberry Point, who lived with his mother, giving her all the loving care possible during her long illness. She was a very patient and loving mother, always greeting her friends with a smile and during her long illness she bore her suffering with great patience. Mr. Weeks preceded her in death April 9, 1924. She leaves to mourn her death one son, Lewis W. and wife, one grandson of whom she was very fond, also one sister, Mrs. W. J. Blanchard, of this place, besides other relatives and a host of friends. Funeral services were conducted by the Rev. A. B. Chamberlain, pastor of the M.E. church of Arlington, Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m. at the home. Six neighbors of the deceased were pall bearers: Oren Knight, Fred Knight, Geo. Halstead, James Cole, Len Wiltse and Ralph Tucker. Interment took place in the family lot of our beautiful cemetery.
