Fatal Accident Near Guttenberg.
John Lossing, an old and respected resident of Clayton, met with an accident Wednesday of last week which resulted in his death Tuesday of this week. At the time of the accident he was picking blackberries on the hillside in the hollow south of town when he lost his balance, rolling down the hill into a small stream of water where he was found about eight hours later. His left leg was broken in the fall and his body badly cut and bruised. Mr. Lossing was nearly ninety years of age. —Guttenberg Press.

Transcriber’s Note: Find-a-Grave shows he is buried in Clayton Cemetery and was born April 20, 1815 and died August 14, 1905
