Mrs. Marjet Erickson Gulsvig
Mrs. Marjet E. Gulsvig passed away at her home in Marion township, Saturday, January 1st., 1916, after a lingering illness.
Mrs. Gulsvig was born in Ness Hallingdal, Norway, January 14th, 1832, and so was nearly eighty-four years old. She grew to womanhood in her native land and was married to Andrew Gulsvig in 1852. They came to this country in 1868 and for all of the years since, except one, the little farm in Marion township has been her home. Mr. Gulsvig died about twenty-one years ago.
Mrs. Gulsvig was the mother of three children, Erick, Gunild and Eli, of whom two survive, Gunild, who has devoted herself to her mother during her long illness, and Eli. Erick died when about 19 years old.
The funeral services were held at the Norway church on January 3rd, Rev. N. Arveson officiating.
Mrs. Gulsvig was an earnest Christian woman and died in full faith and peace with her Saviour. She will be missed and mourned by all who knew her.
