Luana friends were pained to learn of the death of Charles C. Clifton of Thompson, Iowa, while attending a basketball game between Thompson and Wesley teams of which he was he was to be timekeeper, but died just before the game, of heart trouble. He was Luana's buttermaker for several years, and it was here he met his wife, Helen Mae Russell. She also died very suddenly of heart trouble while attending an Eastern Star meeting nine years ago. The body was brought to Monona last Tuesday for burial beside his wife. He leaves three children, Harold of Chicago; Marion, Mrs. R. E. Walters, of Holstein, Iowa, and Russell of Detroit, Mich., and one granddaughter, Beverly Lou Walters.
