Clayton County Register, Thur., 8 Dec. 1932.

George Haefner, 71, a bachelor living near Giard died suddenly at eight o'clock last Sunday morning following a stroke of apoplexy.

Haefner had gone to the Alfred Lenth place to get milk and the attack struck him just as he was crossing a plank across a ditch, where his body was found a short time later by a neighbor.

His faithful dog, who had been his constant companion in life was near the body when it was found.

Note: burial is in the Giard cemetery
