GUTTENBERG: The death of Charles W. Schultz, long-time business man and resident of Guttenberg, occurred at his home in this city Monday morning at nine o'clock, at the age of 69 years, four months and 22 days, after an illness of long duration. Mr. Schultz was born on a farm in Garnavillo township on May 4, 1863, where he grew to manhood. He was married to Miss Lizzie Johnson, who, with one son, has preceded him in death. Seventeen years ago he was married a second time at Minneapolis, Minn., to Miss Amelia Horstman of Garber. For two years the couple resided at Vesta, Minn., 15 years ago coming to Guttenberg to make their home, and since that time and until his death Mr. Schultz was engaged in business in Guttenberg, operating a restaurant and grocery store here. He is survived by his wife, two brothers, Otto Schultz of Osterdock, and Henry Schultz of Garber, and many other relatives and friends, by whom he will be sadly missed. Funeral services were conducted by the Rev. W. J. F. Adix at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran church in Guttenberg on Wednesday afternoon. The body was laid to rest in the city cemetery.
