Funeral services for Charles I. Jacobson, 67, will be held Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock at 6938 North Ave., Chicago, Ill. Burial will be in Arlington cemetery in Elmhurst, Ill.

Jacobson collapsed and died from heart attack while fighting a grass fire on the Charles and Oscar Benson farm Monday afternoon, April 13. His body was shipped to Chicago early Wednesday morning. The Witt Funeral Chapel had charge of Iowa arrangements.

A retired captain in the Chicago fire department, Jacobson was born in Chicago on September 16, 1891. Following the death of his wife in 1952, he came to Iowa to make his home with his cousins, Charles and Oscar Benson, on the Benson farm in Highland Township, seven miles west of Elkader.

He was a veteran of World War I and was a member of Clayton County V.F.W. post No. 4565 and of IOS No. 65.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Arnold Kyllingstap and Mrs. Robert Kaeseberg, both of Chicago and three brothers, Chester, Harry and William, all of Chicago.
