Leffingwell, Jerome died 1895

Mr. Leffingwell, living west of town, died Thursday, Sept. 5th. He had been several years a sufferer with the dreaded disease, consumption. He leaves a wife and several children, who will mourn his loss. The funeral was under the auspices of the Woodmen, on Saturday. Rev. Hestwood preached the sermon.

Note: The Clayton County Death Register gives his name as Jerome Leffingwell. The Death Register, Book I pg 104, indicates DOD as 9/18/1895, which is either a transcription error in the online record or an error in the original record. He is buried in the Reed cemetery with his wife Ellen (Colby) Leffingwell.
