Mrs. Sophia Dorothy Dannenbring was born on the 10th of January 1841, in Louisburg, Germany. She came to America with her two uncles in 1860. She married Mr. L. Dannenbring, residing at Guttenberg and subsequently came to live on a farm in Jefferson township. There was a issue of five children from this union, one daughter died in 1880, leaving two children. In 1905 her husband died and she stayed with her son Mr. Louis Dannenbring and subsequently came with him to Garber, Iowa. Deceased was in poor health for many years. In later years old age made itself felt and about a fortnight ago her strength failed more and more. She passed away on Thursday afternoon at 3 o'clock in the home of her son at Garber.

She reached the age of 80 years, 8 months and 19 days.

Those that mourn her loss are Fred Dannenbring of Volga twp., Mr. Henry Dannenbring of Jefferson twp., Mr. Louis Dannenbring, Garber, Mr. Will Dannenbring, Jefferson twp. There are 12 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, besides a large circle of friends to mourn her loss.

The funeral services were conducted by Rev. P. Stolz at the home and in the church.
