Mary Elizabeth Mahony was born in Pittsburg, Pa., on March 17tth, 1845 and died at the family home on Sunday September 18, 1921. She was united in marriage to Dennis Mitchell at Dubuque, February 2, 1875, and then came to the farm, which has been her home for 46 years. One child, Miss Mary Margaret, was born to the union and with whom she has made her home since the death of her husband, Nov. 24, 1910. Deceased suffered a fractured hip July third and owing to her advanced age she gradually failed until death relieved her. The funeral was held Wednesday, September 21, at Garber church and interment was made in the Elkport cemetery. Rev. Father Minogue officiating.
