Elkader Register, Thur., 15 Sept. 1921.

Agnes Anna Schulte, died at the hospital at Postville, September 6, 1921, after a years illness. She underwent an operation some time ago, from which she never fully recovered and when relapse came, her strength was inadequate to resist the inroads of the ailment and death came as a relief from suffering. She has entered the true home for which she continually labored during life, and which she so richly merited by her exemplary life.

Agnes Schulte was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Schulte of Read Township and was born November 4, 1880. She spent her life in this home. She was a model young woman. Her heart was centered in her church and her home and both are benefitted by her precepts and example. She was a faithful member of the choir at St. Michael's Church at Garber, Iowa, where Sunday after Sunday her voice was heard singing forth the praises to God to the inspiration of the listening worshippers. Many times she made sacrifices to assist at these services. We sadly feel her loss. Her worth was attested to by the large gathering of relatives and friends who came to pay their last tribute of love and respect. The church was filled to its capacity. Rev. D. F. Minogue celebrated the High Mass of Requiem, efficiently assisted by the Guttenberg choir. The Reverend Father spoke feelingly of the beautiful life and happy Christian death of this faithful member of his flock. She has gone but the memory of her good works shall live.

Those who are left to mourn are her aged father, two brothers and six sisters as follows: Mrs. Nora Fallon at home, Mrs. Clara Vorwald of near Guttenberg, Mrs. Wm. Vorwald of near Garber, Mrs. Max Zapf of West Union, Mrs. Alfred Fromm_lt of Guttenberg, Alvina of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Mrs. Mike Miller of Elkader, Edmund of Galena, Ill., and Joseph of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Burial was made in the family lot in the Catholic cemetery at Garnavillo, beside the remains of her mother.

The floral tributes were many and beautiful. The entire community share in the sorrow of the relatives. The pallbearers were: Clement Meder, Hubert Zapf, Wm. Heck, John Auer, Oscar Auer and Geo. Auer.
