Mrs. Allen, wife of Abel Allen, Esq., residing in Elk township, died very suddenly on Tuesday of last week.

Mr. and Mrs. Allen came to the county a quarter of a century ago, and settled first in Cox Creek township, where they lived some ten or twelve years; from there they moved to Bear Creek, in Lodomillo township, and thence, a few years ago, to where he now resides.

Mrs. Allen was for many years a member of the Methodist Church, and died a most earnest Christian. Her loss will be sorely felt by the old friends whose strong arms and stout heart cleared the way for our present civilization and advancement.
