Elkader Register, Thur., 6 Jan. 1921.
Maria Christenson Larson was born on a farm in Boardman Township, on August 1st, 1864, and here spent the greater part of her life. She was baptized and confirmed in the Norway Lutheran Church, of which she was an active and earnest member. In 1891 she was united in marriage to Amund Larson who preceded her in death on December 11th, 1920. In February, 1920, Mr. and Mrs. Larson moved with there family to their home in Wagner Township where they were living at the time of their death.
Mrs. Larson was the youngest of six children, three of whom are living to mourn her death. Apparently she was quite well until three weeks before her death, she was taken suddenly ill, resulting in a nervous collapse. A trained nurse was in constant attendance but all medical aid and care seemed to be of no avail, for she grew steadily weaker and after her three weeks of suffering she passed away on December 24th, 1920, at the age of 56 years and four months. Burial services were conducted by Rev. N. Arveson at the Norwegian Lutheran Church on Monday, December 27th.
She leaves to mourn her death, two children; Harry O. Larson and Effie, now Mrs. Fred Rugland; one sister, Mrs. T. O. Knudson of St. Olaf, Ia.; one grandchild, besides relatives and hosts of friends.
