Losch, Peter 1868 - 1935

Clayton County Register, Thur., 17 Oct. 1935.

Peter Losch, who had been in failing health for a period of about a year, died last week Thursday morning on the Losch farm in this township.

The deceased was born on the Losch farm on April 8, 1868, and so, at the time of his death, had reached the age of 67 years, six months and two days.

He never married, but is survived by two brothers, Dave and Henry, both on the home farm, and three sisters, Mary Losch, on the home farm, Mrs. Louise Cain and Mrs. Anna Miller, both of Elkader. He was the son of Martin and Louise Losch.

This township has always been the home of the deceased and he had always followed the life of a farmer. He was more or less active in democratic circles, and for a period of years served his township in the capacity of township trustee. He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic church here, and the funeral services, which were held last Saturday forenoon, were held in that church. Interment was made in St. Joseph's cemetery with the Rev. Fathers Taken and Horsefield officiating.

Casketbearers were: D. F. Willmes, Henry Thillen, Dominic Miller, Mike Hoover, Nick Miller and Nick Thillen.

Relatives from a distance who attended the funeral services were: Henry Kaber of Prairie du Chien, Wis., Dr. M. Miller, Ossian, Delores Connor of Cedar Rapids, and Art Connor of McGregor.
