George Wilker died Friday evening, June 28th, in the University hospital at Iowa City, where he had been confined several weeks, though he had been in failing health for about three years. He reached the age of 67 years, two months and three days.

Mr. Wilker was born April 25, 1868, in Read township, the son of Mr. and Mrs. G. H. Wilker. On February 23, 1894, he was united in marriage with Miss Wilhemine Harnack, and to this union nine children were born, as follows; Arthur of Monona, Fred of Farmersburg, William of Strawberry Point, Rosy at home, Mrs. Ella Lenth of Farmersburg, Lucy at home, Mrs. Emma Sass of Farmersburg, George Jr. at home, and Mrs. Leona Orr of McGregor.

Besides these, he is also survived by two brothers and six sisters, namely; Fred of Luana, John of St. Olaf, Mrs. Katherine Maehl of St. Olaf, Mrs. Anna Jutting of Easelwood, S.D., Mrs. Marie Lenth of Monona, Mrs. Sofia Rantzow of George, Iowa, Mrs. Ida Polkow of Elkader, and Mrs. Bertha Breitsprecher of St. Olaf. Six grandchildren also mourn his departure.

Mr. Wilker was engaged in farming all his life and was known to all as an industrious and hardworking man. He was a faithful and dutiful husband and father, cheerfully assuming the duties and responsibilities of fatherhood.
