Mrs. William L. Ayers (nee Christina Herboldsheimer) former Clayton county resident, passed away at a hospital at Wheatland Wyo., on last Thursday at the age of 69 years, nine months and nine days, relatives here receiving word to that effect. She had been ill for some time previous to her death. Mrs. Ayers was born in the state of Pennsylvania on June 5, 1865, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bartholomew Herboldsheimer, pioneer residents of this county. She came to Millville township, Clayton county, Iowa, with her parents in 1868, and settled on a farm there. In 1885 she went to Potter, Neb., where she was married to Mr. William L. Ayres. After residing in Nebraska for a time, the couple went to Wheatland, Wyo., to make their home, and where the deceased spent the remainder of her ambitious and true Christian life. She is survived by her husband, four daughters, several grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. Anna Gibbons of Nortonville, N.Dak., and Mrs. Edward Morrow of Potter, Neb., three brothers, Daniel Herboldsheimer of Potter, Neb., and Philip and John Herboldsheimer of here, and numerous other relatives and friends, who will all sadly miss her. three brothers, one sister and her parents have preceded her in death. The funeral was held at Wheatland, Wyo., Sunday afternoon.
