The home of Mr. and Mrs. W. E. McGuire in Elk township was the scene of a pretty wedding Saturday, June 15, when their daughter, Marie, became the bride of George Kloos, son of Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Kloos of Iowa City. The Rev. C. W. Cleveland, pastor of the M.E. church of Edgewood officiated. Miss Lucille McGuire, sister of the bride acted as bridesmaid and Mr. L. P. Truxaw, of Iowa City, brother-in-law of the groom, was groomsman. The bride is a graduate of the Iowa City high school and of Irish's buisness school. She has been assistant to the Director of the Teachers Placement Bureau at the University of Iowa for the past several years. Mr. Kloos graduated from the Iowa City high school and from the University of Iowa in the class of 1924, and has been for one year a coach in the Iowa City high school. From there he went to Muscatine as coach and teacher in the commercial department of the high school. Last year he held the same position in the Freeport, Ill., high school and has been re-elected for the coming year. Mr. and Mrs. Kloos will be at home in Freeport, Ill., after September first.
