Elkader Register, Thur., 14 Jan. 1926. Guttenberg News column.
Miss Lillian Wolter and Mr. Gregor Nieland, both of Guttenberg, were united in marriage by Rev. H. J. Krieger at St. Mary's Catholic church in this city on Tuesday morning, in the presence of a large number of relatives and friends. Miss Odelia Nieland, cousin of the groom, and Mr. Clarence Kann, friend of the couple, acted as attendants. A fine wedding dinner was served at the bride's home and in the evening a fine supper was served at the groom's home to a large number of relatives and friends, after which most pleasant hours were spent by all. The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Matt Wolter, of Guttenberg. She attended school and grew to young womanhood here. She is a young lady who has won the respect of all in this community and promises all the necessary qualifications to make a happy home and loving wife for the young man of her choice. The groom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Nieland, of Jefferson township, and is one of Clayton county's progressive and prosperous young farmers. He is held in high regard by all who know him, and is well worthy of his chosen bride. Mr. and Mrs. Nieland will go to housekeeping on a farm in this township. That they may enjoy abundance of happiness and prosperity through their journey through life is the wish of their numerous friends, as they are both worthy young people.
