C. D. Hendershot, a prominent attorney at Spencer, who with Milt Allen formed the firm of Allen & Hendershot, committed suicide by shooting himself through the heart. Hendershot was local agent for a loan company and had forged trust deeds upon various farms in this vicinity and had realized upon them from the loan company to the extent of about $7,000. He left several letters, in one of which he admitted his guilt in all the offenses attributed to him, with the exception of one.
