Jerome Harlan, the afflicted son of George and Julia Harlan, in Fremont township, died last Friday, and his funeral was held from Union Chapel on Saturday at two P.M.

He has been a charge all his life to the relatives who cared for him as in infancy, although grown to man’s stature. He was, we believe, thirty-six years old. His life was one whose misery, and lack, and cause, and inexpressible deficiency make one of the saddest problems of humanity. What must it be to a soul so bound around to be set free!

One can imagine the mother, whose care he was so long, awaiting him and anxious even in the skies to see him and know the poor chrysalis had burst giving the life she had guarded so, room to grow. Well and blessed for that one of earth’s sons was Death.
