Obituary.

Lola Alice Burt Likens, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Anderson Burt was born in Clarke Co Iowa Oct 8th 1881, died at Bassett Neb. Jan. 21, 1904. Age at death 21 years 4 months 13 days. She was married July 30, 1901 to Mr. Denis Likens of Bassett Nebraska. To this union was born two children both of whom still survive the departed mother together with the husband to journey on thro' life without the help and comfort of a companion and mother. Deceased was converted and joined the M. E. church about four years ago in which she lived a consistent Christian until God called her home to her reward. May her example in life be an incentive to many to follow Christ through life and have his consolation and comfort in death. The bereaved family have the sympathy of all and to the loving father of us all and to his abundant grace and mercy the family is affectionately commended. May God who watches over the little sparrows protect the motherless babes with the companion that they through his abundant grace and mercy may at last be gathered to mansions above. Funeral services were conducted by the writer at the Frame church Saturday Jan. 23 at 2 P. M. after which the body was laid to rest in the adjoining cemetery there to await the judgment morn.
