Harvey Hopkins Dead.
After a lingering illness Harvey Hopkins, a well known pioneer citizen of Liberty township, passed away Tuesday morning at the Osceola Sanitarium where he had been taking treatment during the past several days. The deceased was 75 years of age. He came to Clarke county from Pennsylvania in 1870.

Some years later his wife died, since which time he had chosen to live alone on his farm in Liberty township. Recently he moved to the town of Liberty that he might be near his only child, Mrs. Wm. McKinney.

Harvey Hopkins was a good citizen. Besides his daughter he leaves a host of friends who mourn his departure.

Funeral services were held at Liberty Center church yesterday. Interment was made in the Harrison cemetery.

A wave of sadness passed over the community Tuesday when it was learned that Harvey Hopkins had passed away at the Shively hospital in Osceola. Funeral services were conducted from the Center church Wednesday at 2:00 p. m. Burial was made in the Harrison cemetery.
