Saturday Rites For
Sylvester Blakely

Former County Resident Died At Clarinda
Tuesday At Age Of 80; Will Be
Buried At Bethel

Services will be at 2 p. m. Saturday from the Webster funeral home for Sylvester L . Blakely, 80, who died at Clarinda Tuesday. The Rev. Azel Smith is in charge, and burial will be n Bethel cemetery.

A former resident of Clarke county and a retired farmer, he was born in Harrisonville, Mo., the son of Mr. and Mrs. Taylor Blakely, both of whom preceded him in death. He never married.

Surviving are two brothers, Chester of Grant's Pass, Oregon, and Thelbert of Osceola; nine nieces, three nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.

Pallbearers will be James Jette, Vern McCartney, Everett Poush, W. F. Voris, Mickey Jones and Willie Davenport. Emil Rinderspacher will sing "The Old Rugged Cross" and "Rock of Ages" accompanied by Amy Ruth Harlan.

Sylvester Blakely, known by many here the past years, was buried in Bethel cemetery Saturday afternoon, Dec. 5. He was a brother of Chet Blakely, who resided in this community some years ago. Sympathy from his many friends here is extended to those left behind.
