Darlene Dawn Handrock, daughter of Ernest Price and Mildred (McCarroll) Price was born December 4, 1936 in Osceola, Iowa and passed from this life Monday, February 6, 2017 at Iowa Methodist Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa at 80 years of age.

Darlene graduated from Osceola High School, she attended Drake University. Darlene was united in marriage to James Carl Handrock on June 5, 1955 in Osceola. She loved painting and was a wonderful artist. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Darlene took great care and pride in having a warm loving home. She loved working in her garden and flower beds. Darlene enjoyed being active with the Democratic party. She served as the Chairman and Vice Chairman of the Clarke County Democratic party for many years. She enjoyed playing bridge and attending many of the shows at the Casino.

Those relatives who preceded Darlene in death were her husband, James Handrock, brother, Roger Price, parents, Ernest Jr. and Mildred Price.

Darlene leaves to cherish her memory; son, Jay (Denise) Handrock of Council Bluffs, IA, son, Jon (Kathy) Handrock of Lexington, SC, son, Joe Handrock of Osceola, IA, grandchildren, Stephanie (Dustin) Clements of Pickering, MO, and Travis (Tenysa) Handrock of Lucas, IA, bonus grandchildren, Melissa (Kevin) Kopaska of Polk City, IA, and Amanda (Mario) Martinez of Kansas City, KS, great grandchildren, Samantha, Dominic, Lexi, Andrew, Ridge, and Escher as well as other relatives and many friends.
