The illness and sudden death of Mrs. Barton was a great shock to the people of our neighborhood. She was seemingly well until a week ago Sunday when she was taken sick. No one thought she was seriously ill until Saturday afternoon. She died Sunday at 4 o'clock P. M. aged fifty five years. The bereft family have the sympathy of the entire community. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. D. B. Long. John Barton came from Burlington to attend his mother's funeral.
