Mrs. Laura Folger Gould.

Laura C., the eldest daughter of Henry C. and Emily Folger, was born in Vermillion county, Indiana, June 5, 1853, and died at the home of her daughter on April 28, 1927. She moved with her parents to Clarke county, Iowa in the spring of 1864, was united with the Methodist Protestant church during a revival meeting held in 1868 by the late Brother E. S. Brown and has ever since been true to these vows, although being unable to attend church on account of poor health had always a loving thought toward her faith, and at the time of her death was a member of the Fremont church. She was united in marriage to Aaron L. Gould in 1877, who passed away March 16, 1914. To this union was born one daughter, Mrs. Ada Harris, who, with her two brothers, O. B. Folger of Osceola, W. W. Folger of Ankeny, Iowa, and one sister, Mrs. Mary Nicholson, of Hardin, Mo., six grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and a host of friends who are left to mourn her departure, one brother, N. C. Folger, one granddaughter, and one great granddaughter having preceded her in death.

Soon after the death of her husband, the deceased moved to Osceola, Iowa, where she resided until October, 1926, when owing to failing health she came to the home of her daughter, where she was kindly cared for until death relieved her as before noted.

"Farewell, dear Mother, sweet thy
rest, weary with years and worn
with pain,

Farewell, 'till in some happy place
we shall behold thy face again;
'Tis ours to miss thee, all our
years, and tender memories of
thee keep.

Thine in the Lord to rest, for so,
He giveth His beloved sleep."

Funeral services were conducted from the Fremont church by Rev. J. C. Leonard, of Keokuk, Iowa, and assisted by the pastor Re. E. C. Lepper, at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, April 30, Rev. Mr. Leonard preached a most appropriate sermon from the text in Rev. 22.14. Interment was made in Fremont cemetery.
