Mrs. Turk Observes her 93rd Birthday
Aged Osceola Couple Wed in 1861; Have Lived in Clarke County Nearly 50 Years
[in handwriting: Born 1840 died 1933]
Mrs. E. H. [Ann Edwards] Turk celebrated her ninety-third birthday Sunday at her home in Osceola. Due to her advanced age the day was spent quietly. Members of the family and neighbors called to congratulate her.
Mrs. Turk was born in England and came to America with her parents when five years of age. The family settled in Illinois near Waukegan.
In October 1861, she was united in marriage to E. H. [Edward Harrison] Turk. They moved to near Osceola in 1884. They moved later from the farm to Osceola. Their residence in this county covers almost a half century.
Mrs. Turk has enjoyed good health most of the time and is able to get around quite well considering her age. The husband, E. H. Turk, will celebrate his 93 birthday early next fall. This couple have walked life’s pathway arm in arm for almost three quarters of a century, sharing each others joys and sorrows, always with the abiding faith that in the end all things work out well for those who deserve it.
They have a wide circle of friends and many relatives who wish them continued good health and happiness.
