JOHN B. WINTER

John B. Winter, whose death occurred on February 2, 1900, at his home near Winter's Lake north of Ionia, was a native of Palmburg, [unreadable] was born on December The [unreadable]. In 1857 he left his native country and came to America, settling in Janesville, Wisoonsin. In 1863 he same to Chickasaw county and on the 28th day of October 1871 he was united marriage to Catherine Brookblts, who with four sons and two daughters survive him. He was a consistent and devout member of the Roman Catholic church and died in the full enjoyment of her sacred rites. The funeral was held from the church in North Washington on February 5th, Rev. Father Probst conducting the services. He was a good man. His memory will be held in loving remembrance, by those who were most intimately associated with him.
