DEATH OF MRS. JENNIE CURRY.
Was The Woman Who WAS Betrayed by Bigamist Jacob Last Summer. • The following obituary notice, clipped from a Chicago paper, is handed us by a friend of the deceased for publication. It will be of interest to the people of this county and to those of the neighborhood of Little Turkey in particular, as the deceased was the lady who last June in this city was married to one Everitt Jacobs who at the time had a wife living and who is now serving a term of three years in the penitentiary for the offense: Mrs. Jennie Curry, daughter of Henry and Bessie McMahon and widow of Mathias Curry, passed away to join mother, husband and her only child, a little daughter, in the home of the good beyond the stars, at the home of her sister. Mrs. Lawrence Byrne, 692 West Polk Street, Chicago, at 10 o'clock p. m. March 27, 1900, aged 30 years. Funeral services were held at the St. Jardath's church March 30, Rev.Father Cox preaching the discourse, after which the remains were laid to rest in Calvary cemetery. Jennie McMahon was born in Chicago March 21st,1870,and on Sept.10th, 1888, was married to Mr. Curry. who died August 24, 1895. Their only child, Vera, died at the tender age of five years, 11 months. Mrs. Curry was a lady of culture and refinement, with a kind, generous heart and cheerful disposition, whose genial presence was a sure cure for the blues. She found happiness in contributing to the happiness of others. The last months of her life were spent in suffering, but sustained by the loving care of relatives and devoted friends, and an abiding faith in the fulfillment of the promises of God's Holy Word, she bore her sufferings with patience and fell asleep without fear. Mrs. Curry was an honored member of the Woman's Catholic Order of Foresters and also of the Knights and Ladies of Security.
