BRITT-KISLEY NUPTIAL EVENT
MARRIED AT LAWLER ON THANKSGIVING DAY - SINGLE RING CEREMONY USED
On Thanksgiving morning, Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church Lawler, was the scene of the wedding of Miss Ruby Britt, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thos. Britt of Lawler, and Mr. Joseph Kisley, son of Mr. John Kisley of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, with the Rev. John O'Donnell officiating at the single ring ceremony.
The "Bridal Chorus" from Lohengrin's wedding march was played on the organ by Sister Miram Viola. Miss Edith Shepherd, a friend of the bride, sang sacred selections during the Mass.
The bride was attired in an ankle length gown of blue velvet. She wore silver accessories and carried an arm bouquet of American Beauty roses and pom poms. The bride was attended by her sister Madonna Britt who wore an ankle length gown of wine moire taffeta with silver accessories, also. She carried an arm bouquet of Talisman roses and pom poms. Mr. Jim Bee of Waterloo, a close friend of the couple, acted as best man. The groom and his attendant wore dark suits. A wedding dinner was served to a few close relatives at the home of the bride's brother, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Britt, of Fredericksburg. The bride received her education in Mount Carmel School and Lawler High School, being a graduate of the Class of 1934. She is a fine young lady who is capable of making a nice home for the man she has chosen. The groom is now in the employ of the Rath Packing Company of Waterloo. He received his education and was a graduate of St. Joseph's School, Cudahy, Wisconsin. He comes from a very good family and will make a pleasant home for the lady of his choice. Mr. and Mrs. Kisley will make their home in Waterloo.
