John Offerman was born on Aug 6, 1867 in Luxemburg, Iowa. His father was Johann Offermann, who was born December 24, 1830 in Prussia (Germany). John’s mother was Susana Redlinger who was born Sep 10, 1841 in Waldbredimus, Luxembourg. Johann and Susana lie in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Luxemburg, Iowa.

Rose Duster was born Feb 4, 1879 in Holy Cross, Iowa. Her father was Antone Duster who was born in 1845 in Luxembourg. Antone served as Justice of the Peace for 19 years in Luxemberg, Iowa. Her mother, Teresa Konzen was born in March, 1850 in Kruchten, Prussia. Teresa died within 6 weeks of her daughter, Rose’s birth. Antone and Teresa lie in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Luxemburg, Iowa.

John grew up and later purchased his parents’ farm in the northwest corner of Dubuque County, Iowa. In 1910, John and family moved to Chickasaw County where John purchased 160 acres in Section 26, Washington Township, Chickasaw County, Iowa. The farm’s current address is 1179 Kenwood Avenue.

John and Rose were married in the Holy Trinity Church, Luxemburg, Iowa on Oct 9, 1899 by Rev. Father Oberbroeckling.

To John and Rose’s marriage were born five children:

·Reynold was born Feb 21, 1902. Ray married Calista Keane of Cascade, Iowa. Ray and Calista had two sons, Robert & Charles and one daughter, Joanne. Ray and Calista lie in Dyersville, Iowa.

·Aloysus was born Mar 16, 1904. Al married Angeline Hovermann of New Hampton, Iowa. Al and Angeline had three sons, John, Joe & Nicolas and four daughters, Mary, Margery, Susan & Janet. Al and Angeline lie in Fort Collins, Colorado.

·Edmund was born May 8, 1906. Edmund died when he was 63 years old and he lies in Calvary Cemetery, Alta Vista, Iowa.

·Cletus was born Nov 11, 1910. Cletus married Josephine Hughes of New Hampton, Iowa. Cletus and Jo had three sons, Mike, Tom & Dick and three daughters, Ann, Jane & Mary. Cletus and Jo lie in Calvary Cemetery, Elma, Iowa.

·Dorothy was born Jul 23, 1913. Dorothy married Joe Laures of New Hampton, Iowa. Dorothy and Joe adopted one son, Loras and one daughter, Rosemary. Dorothy and Joe lie in Calvary Cemetery, New Hampton, Iowa.
